WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEKEND?
morning ridersss.. went on a Turville ride on sat with rider crespo and rider lito. BIG BLUE SKY out there, sunny a bit windy and cold but it was a GREAT feeling to be back in the country cruising on those rollers. rider crespo showed up with a new Cervelo CARBON Soloist Team, shocking given the size of his ass! it inspired rider lito and myself to push a bit harder- that bike looked stunning and very FAST! Sunday I woke up late and went with rider cali for a ride at richmond park, we were fine, fast and felt good in the bike nobody could hang with us with lots of pretenders... BUt eventually one rider in a very old racing bike with mudguards on it no less!!! overtook us and I BONKED- a total disaster, all my confidence was gone in just 1 minute... what was weird was I didnt have any feeling that i was running on a reserve tank - normally i can control it a bit better.. still was a great day out- Keep spinning those legs, very best, rider ezzy-e

vo2 max testing feb 14 details
we have booked 5 places for feb 14 with Dr Andy Reid - additional slots will be made available once the first batch go through - i have copied his mail to me below which details the test: book your spot on the comments section.
1) Measurement of height and weight
2) Lactate Profile: Begin at 100W, increasing workload by 40W every 4 mins until close to maximum while measuring heart rate, cadence, perceived exertion and blood lactic acid concentration.
3) Brief discussion of where each athlete is at current time, comparisons to normative data, suggestions for training relevant to current/seasons goal.
4) Written report and phone discussion with each athlete once I have mulled over the data (we will be a bit pressed for time on the night because we are trying to get everyone through).
The cost for each person is £95 (cash or cheque, sorry no plastic!)
I am off the France to New Zealand Cycling's European Training Centre for 3 days tomorrow. When I get back I will email you again with a sheet to collect data/ history from each of the riders coming in for testing, and also to give you directions on how to get to the test venue.
Did you say to me that you wanted to book another 5 people in. If so either the Tuesday night (13th, or the Thursday night 15th) look pretty good at the moment. If you only have say 3 more interested, it would be good to test 4 each night (so we don't have to run quite so late into the evening). Get back to me on that.

The Gimondi Manifesto
Be ready for "Gimondi" and for yourself.
Every cyclist feels the need to be fit and healthy.
Here 10 rules to be ready for "Gimondi", to have fun, to keep fit and for a healthy life-style:
1. Believe in a life-style oriented to health and fitness.
2. Think positive and believe in yourself to achieve your own targets.
3. Live outdoor: body and mind in harmony with nature.
4. A healthy and balanced nutrition.
5. A constant sport activity.
6. Respect your town as much as you want your home be respected.
7. Forget sometime the car in the box.
8. Be comfortable with people because we are them.
9. Re-discover the pleasure of walking, running, and cycling in the streets of your town.
10. Have a strong sense of duty, but of enjoyment too.
Why cycling is good, in four points:
1. Bicycle and health. The bicycle is health and life. It is good for legs, lungs, blood-circulation and hearth. Cycling reduces the risk of heart attack by 30%. It trains the legs muscles and it does not disfigure women’s calves (as many usual say!). Cycling is good for the mood because you can meet people with your same passion.
2. Bicycle and tourism. The bicycle is good for tourism because it leaves you the time to look around. You discover the beauty of your suburb and the area nearby with a wider visual than a rapid glance from the car.
3. Bicycle and pollution. The bicycle is the best friends of environment. It gives an indispensable help to reduce the pollution in our towns; leave the car at home and the city will be more liveable and human.
4. Bicycle and side effects. The bicycle is not a dangerous means of transport, if you do not pretend to fly! You choose the route and the speed; you are not influenced by traffic. You will sweat but with a smile on your face.

Bergamo Race
RiderZinni wants all to know that the Felice Gimondi Registration is open
and it can be done on line.
http://www.felicegimondi.it/orderGB.htm
Given that we are a TEAM, we should be using the following Team's
Registration sheet:
http://www.felicegimondi.it/iscrizioni/Scheda_ing.pdf - list the team as "ranch" and the team code as london ranch - i used my british cycling racing licence number as c ycling number - but u can probably put any number u want.
The only difference is that the individual registration can be paid
via Cards but the team needs to be paid in cash or Bank transfer (I can
ask them if we can pay with a card if we need to).
> The Entry Deadline is April 18th.
We will be riding the grand fondo.
